President Obama recently created another bipartisan task force to develop a long-term plan to place the US on a sustainable fiscal path. Good luck. Politics are always involved and this task force is meant to provide recommendations when Congress has been unable and unwilling to do so. The bipartisan task force is chaired by a Republican and a Democrat, former Senate budget committee chairman Pete Domenici, and Dr. Alice Rivlin, former Clinton budget director. Their first meeting last month drove home the threat that exploding debt and out-of-control borrowing, especially from China, poses to the stability and independence of our country.
